Announcing 30 Poets/30 Days - the 2020 Edition

Although it's been years since the last 30 Poets/30 Days, this particular National Poetry Month has inspired me to dust off the concept and put some poetry out into the world. I cannot say I was totally on top of things, but poets are remarkable folks who respond to the world (and emails), so I can already share that you'll be seeing poems (and often additional treats) from...

Kathi Appelt
Brod Bagert
Carmen Bernier-Grand
Calef Brown
Ed DeCaria
Rebecca Kai Dotlich
Nancy Bo Flood
Douglas Florian
Kristine O'Connell George
Charles Ghigna
Nikki Grimes
David L. Harrison
Georgia Heard
Ellen Hopkins
Lee Bennett Hopkins
Julie Larios
Kenn Nesbitt
Linda Sue Park
Ann Whitford Paul
Greg Pincus
Bob Raczka
Adam Rex
Darren Sardelli
Liz Garton Scanlon
Marilyn Singer
Charles Waters
April Halprin Wayland
Janet Wong
Jane Yolen

Plus I can say that once again, the fabulously talented artist (and #kidlitchat co-host) Bonnie Adamson has provided a fantastic logo (or TWO!) for this year's festivities. How can you beat that???

You'll be seeing a mix of never before seen poems and published poems and who really knows what else. You can see the poems here every day, plus there'll be a mailing list (to supplement the existing one). And... more!

But for now, I want to get this started and put poetry out into the world....

Do you mind if I post a link to your blog on my library's Facebook page? (Waterford Township Public Library in Michigan) I used to print each of your 30 poems daily and display them in the library, but we're closed to physical access right now.

Kim - please do! I'd appreciate it, and I know all the poets would, too. And truly... we always talk of librarians when we're together... so we appreciate you the rest of the year, too!

Done! I admit to being slightly Facebook inept, so I couldn't figure out how to tag you in the post. Still, the first poem is on this page: https://www.facebook.com/WaterfordLibrary/?__tn__=%2Cd%2CP-R&eid=ARBxieN-ENuGocJ6XI-ew7-f_hYG52O3mmQItu3QUZ5DzGjV9tM9UQt6Aqsp1-0dCnoOcrCIX41fu6vN
