Telling More Fibs

I got to zip out into the blogosphere more today and read some great Fibs, plus I saw a headline in German that I quite liked. Computerfreaks!!!!! Yowza.

There was a nice link this morning from Melissa McNamara's blogophile column on CBSNews.com, as well as some references in far more literary sources than this Fibber is used to.

But to me, the most interesting thing today was this piece in the Hindustan Times. Why's it interesting? Well, it doesn't reference back to this blog, and I hope that's because Fibs have reached a critical mass. It could just be laziness/disinterest on their part, I suppose, but anyplace talking about Fibs in the same sentence as Sudoko and the Rubik's cube can't be all bad.

I'd also note that I found out that this blog is Number One! OK, sure, it's apparently the most undervalued blog on Blogshares.com on a p/e basis. Ummm. Right. But hey, NUMBER ONE!

If you're here for some Fibbing, you might want to scroll down and poke through the blog. Hundreds and hundreds of Fibs are here, lurking in the comments of most Fib related posts. There are also links over on the right hand side of the blog under the heading "The Fibs" that will take you to the "posts with the mosts" or something like that. As always, I hope you'll leave a Fib or two in the comments right here. Fib on!

An interesting observation about the ease/difficulty of Fibbing in different languages (I have written one Fib in English and another in Kannada - 8-line Fib dedication to Dr. Rajkumar):
I found it much easier to write the English Fib. Writing the Kannada Fib was at least an order of magnitude more difficult. I guess one reason is that the average number of syllables seems to be much higher for a Kannada word than it is for an English word.

Wonder what the experience of other people who have tried Fibbing in multiple languages is.

I started fibbing last night and here is a sampling of my first ones...

Fib #4
Have
You
Ever
Felt when shoes
Really hug your feet?
I savor their loving support

Fib #5

You
Say
She is
Teacher’s Pet
Instead I say this:
She loves learning and shares this love

Now, a bit more spiritual and deep:

Fib #6

I
Said
“Fill me”
And he did
That sacred moment
Forever felt in memory

This next one is based on multiple conversations I have
had about “Cleansed”, a play that is stirring up
controversy here in Bakersfield. I moved to a longer
form of Fib in order to say all that needed to be said.

Fib #7
Why?
Why?
Do we
Give to it?
Negative forces…….
Our strength may need its brutal pull….
Internal resurrection one soul finds her answer

(I hope the lines work out in the post better than they do in this box).
