Words Count
by

Occasionally, I overwrite:
One word will do, but I'll use plenty.
So, this poem's on a limit.
It only uses
Sometimes, I write things that make me laugh. Sometimes, I write things that make me scratch my head and wonder what I was thinking. Sometimes, I have no clue where poems come from. And sometimes, all three things occur at once. This is one of those times....

This is brilliant.
I am a dork, and of course, COUNTED the words, despite the final word echoing in my head as soon as I read the final truncated line.
I would love to see a kid's reaction to this...
Too funny! As is your video that Jim Hill posted today, "The Truth about Poets and Poetry." Thanks for sharing. (Robyn, haiku millionaire...)
I laughed out loud! In a room all by myself. Greg, I love your posts! You have such a talent for saying things most eloquently. Please never limit your words.
Very funny! I counted and laughed until I
This is great. I have a similarly short poem of my own that ends with an invisible word. It was a fun one to write (or not write as they case was) ...
Thanks, y'all. As I said, this one is an odd bird... though that's why I like it. And clearly why I like all of you!
Ha! There's a poem I love about a book report that has to be a certain length and the poem cuts off as soon as it reaches that word count. This one made me snort and was much shorter! (I love short poems:>)
I like these odd birds! And your video was just nutty. Yay!
HA! You made me count, too, even though I knew what I would end on!
Very funny, and wonder why we all still had to count? Students will love it, especially those who always ask, how long, how long?
Totally made me laugh too!! Odd looks good on you. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, I could see you laugh, scratch your head, and wonder what you were thinking. I laughed and scratched my head. I won't go into wondering what you were thinking. Delightful!
Ha! This is great!
That was nothing less than clever. Loved it. :) and yes I was also one of those who counted.
