Poetry Re-issue: Thoughts During My Spelling Test

Thoughts During My Spelling Test
by
Greg Pincus

Yacht, February, aisle, cologne?
I've got to think. Leave me alogne.
Isthmus, Wednesday, queue, colonel?
I give up. This test's infolonel!

It's Poetry Friday, and I'm continuing my look back at 10 years of blogging by revisiting a nearly five year old poem. To be honest, I'd totally forgotten about this one until I re-stumbled into it (one of my favorite things about having my own blog, I must admit!). Here's something unforgettable, though -  this week's Poetry Friday Roundup over at TeacherDance. Check it out! You'll be glad you did, I tell ya!

And if you want to get all my poems (and only the poems) emailed to you for freeee as they hit the blog, enter your email address in the box below then click subscribe!

So funny, and I need to tell you I had to work at "infolonel". One of my granddaughters is just starting to read, & the language trips her up often. I think I'll save this for her for later when she can really enjoy it! Glad you found it, too.

LOVE it! Happy Blogiversary! Just came from A Wrung Sponge which is 10 this year, as is our A Year of Reading. 2006 was a watershed year in the Kidlitosphere...or at least in our lives!

Such a charming writing, Greg! Happy to meet you and your posts. You've made my day:) I'm reading currently Living Beyond Your Feelings: Controlling Emotions So They Don't Control You by Joyce Meyer, but I should say sometimes, you need to show your emotions and let them go out and breathe freely.
In Christ,
