Fibbing the day away...

Well, now, Fibs DO have a life of their own at this point. They're in the comments on my blog -- mostly here and here -- but also at these (and other) locations around the Web:

Here at Slashdot.

The early adoptor thread at Word Freaks.

Fibbers at Informed Consent.

On the World of Warcraft.

Of course the nerds at NerdNYC.com would like it.

Fibs and Electronic music are a great fit.

Can the actuaries tell us how long this Fib trend will last?

I'd also like to tip my hat to my fellow bloggers who have linked here (this is the closest I can come to a full list, but thanks to all!).

And heck, even the Poetry Foundation has connected to me.

UPDATED to add Fib (poetry) from Wikipedia.

Quite a fine and Fibbish day. More to come!

    Sneeze
    out
    haiku.
    Carefully
    digest each line of
    sequentially lengthening Fib.

    We/
    start/
    with 1/
    or 0/
    or is it 2 1s?/
No matter the start of it all,/
the series accumulates onward, summing itself,/
approaching in evermore loquacious lines the golden irrational asymptote.

I cannot tell a lie: I can't stop Fibbing. And I confess that the previous sneezy should have had "serially" instead of "sequentially."

  3. But the great thing is... you NEEDN'T stop fibbing!

    Post
    Fibs
    Until
    Your fingers
    Have big old bruises
Then learn to type with your left foot.

    I/
    am/
    "I am."/
    Let light be/
    "day" distinct from "night;"/
let "sky" divide heaven from earth./
Gather water in "the sea" and discover "the land."/
Seed the land, let the water fall as rain, let them grow and multiply and bear good fruit./
Let the stars, and the sun, and the moon mark the days, the seasons, the years, in series distinct and rational each, to golden eternity.

    And then, take a rest.

I love this form.. The neat part is that you can make it concise by stopping, say at five syllables, or write an epic!
I've been fascinated by equi-angular spirals & Fibonacci in nature for some time. ['Here's one I prepared earlier' :
    It's called "microworld"

unseen bonds and blocks build a visible universe
    crystalcracking clay tessellates to hexagons
molecular bonds carve quartz and angled calcite perfection
fibonacci in each pinecone, protea, sunflower

    geometry of the seen
    made from the lego
    of the invisible

I just conflated it further into your form- my first fib!!

    in
    each
    pinecone,
    sunflower
    and leucadendron
    fibonacci’s math is hiding..

  7. Les fibs ça s'écrit aussi en français:

    Tu/
    ne/
    pourras/
    plus jamais/
    te regarder dans/
le miroir des âmes en proie/
    au délire chiffré sensuellement logique./

    This
    is
    going
    to be a
    terrible poem,
unless I nail a great finish!

    Sunday Fibonacci Scene

    Cat
    sat
    by milk
    fur like silk,
    purring day away,
content, while the music did play.
