MIXED UP

My fingers sit where you have toes.
My elbow’s where you have your nose.
Your hair grows out, but mine grows in,
And I’ve got rainbow colored skin.
My arms have knees. My calves are thighs.
I’ve got one lip and thirteen eyes.
I look quite old, but I’m still young.
Come shake my hand -- whoops, that’s my tongue!
That poem reminds me of my favorite poet, Shel Silverstein.
ReplyDeleteWhen we get back from break I am going to work on poetry more with my kiddos (thanks for the inspiration).
I hope it will be okay to share some of your poems with them
when 2nd graders hear that they'll go EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
ReplyDeleteI like it
