Thoughts, opinions, and ramblings about (broadly) children's literature from my perspectives as a writer, parent, and volunteer elementary school librarian. Plus I post Fibs, Oddaptations and poetry galore, all listed on the right and left hand sides of the blog.

What the wiki?
I love Wikis, but I must admit I have now found my favorite entry in the Wikipedia.
At the moment, the Wiki servers are having trouble, apparently. It isn't a linking error on my end (this time!) but technical difficulties on their end. Check back later, I guess.
It's reading loud and clear now. But where your credit for inventing the form in the first place? Seems to me there should be some mention of your name yes/no?
Well, there is a link right back to this page and the initial Fib post, but keep in mind that Fibonacci poetry itself isn't my invention by any stretch. The clever name Fib is, and the idea of the 20 syllable version as a "foe" of Haiku is probably my twisted idea, too. I'm just tickled that someone wikied it and linked me (and it wasn't family!), and that folks are writing Fibs all around.
Again, Rita, there's a link back to my Fib post... and the other thing about the Wikipedia is that it's an ever changing, collaborative knowledge base. You, for instance, could get an account and make changes to the Fib (or other) entries. I could too, but I am simply fascinated to see the Fib entry there and wish to see where it goes. That might be the entirety of the entry for all time. It might not be. For now, I'm more than happy to see it there.
those are both error pages..?

ReplyDeleteI knew the Fib's Wikipedia moment would come. My, that didn't take long!
ReplyDeleteThat is sweet!
There should at least be mention of you as the author of the sample Fib given!!
