I got to zip out into the blogosphere more today and read some great Fibs, plus I saw a headline in German that I quite liked. Computerfreaks!!!!! Yowza.
There was a nice link this morning from Melissa McNamara's blogophile column on CBSNews.com, as well as some references in far more literary sources than this Fibber is used to.
But to me, the most interesting thing today was this piece in the Hindustan Times. Why's it interesting? Well, it doesn't reference back to this blog, and I hope that's because Fibs have reached a critical mass. It could just be laziness/disinterest on their part, I suppose, but anyplace talking about Fibs in the same sentence as Sudoko and the Rubik's cube can't be all bad.
I'd also note that I found out that this blog is Number One! OK, sure, it's apparently the most undervalued blog on Blogshares.com on a p/e basis. Ummm. Right. But hey, NUMBER ONE!

An interesting observation about the ease/difficulty of Fibbing in different languages (I have written one Fib in English and another in Kannada - 8-line Fib dedication to Dr. Rajkumar):
ReplyDeleteI found it much easier to write the English Fib. Writing the Kannada Fib was at least an order of magnitude more difficult. I guess one reason is that the average number of syllables seems to be much higher for a Kannada word than it is for an English word.
Wonder what the experience of other people who have tried Fibbing in multiple languages is.
